£20m double swoop on the cards?

Spurs are looking for a big money combined deal for Wilson Palacios and Peter Crouch, but the report claims the high asking price hasn’t put off Stoke boss Tony Pulis.

The Potters are apparently willing to stump up the cash in order to land their two biggest transfer targets of the summer, and a big bid will help the White Hart Lane club meet any cash pay-offs to the two players, which in turn might influence their wage demands at the Britannia.

Crouch is thought to be seeking around £70,000-a-week to join Stoke, which is considerably more than the Potters' current top earner is paid, while Palacios is also looking for a substantial salary.

To be persuaded to leave, the duo would expect settlements from Spurs, which would be funded from their combined transfer fee.

Pulis is nevertheless said to be considering an £18m offer and believes that this will be enough to convince Spurs to sell.

With Palacios only having made 18 appearances in the Premier League last season and Crouch only notching four goals in the same competition, both have fallen out of favour at Tottenham, and manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly keen to cash in on them now, in order to fund moves for new players.

Redknapp has been told that he must sell before he can buy this summer and has reportedly been in the hunt for a new striker to lead Tottenham in the new campaign, leading to the likelihood of players leaving White Hart Lane if the right offer comes in. And it would appear such an offer is ready to be made from Stoke.

Palacios and Crouch wouldn't be the first players to move to the Potters from Spurs this summer, after Pulis snapped up Jonathan Woodgate when his contract expired at the north London club.
