Leeds line up Pugh swoop

Skysports.com understands Leeds United are lining up a move to bring Stoke City midfielder Danny Pugh back to Elland Road on loan.

Pugh has appeared as a substitute in the Potters' opening three Premier League games of the season, but has subsequently been left out of the 25-man squad for the first half of the campaign.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis is now prepared to let the 28-year-old join a Championship club on loan, with team-mates Danny Collins, Michael Tonge and Tom Soares also expected to head out of the Britannia Stadium.

Leeds are understood to be interested in Pugh, who undertook a spell in the second tier with former club Preston North End last season.

Whites boss Simon Grayson is a big fan of the former Manchester United youngster and is weighing up a temporary swoop for a player who can also operate at left-back.
Pugh previously made over 50 appearances during two years at Leeds before leaving for Preston in 2006.
