Stoke City midfielder Dean Whitehead believes Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios have the qualities to be great signings for the club.

The duo joined City from Spurs on transfer deadline day for a combined £20m fee and Whitehead is already convinced that the large outlay will prove to be money well spent.
Crouch started against Liverpool on Saturday and played a key role in the Potters goal that sealed a 1-0 victory against his former team, while Palacios came on as a second-half substitute as Tony Pulis' men held on to claim a vital three points.
Whitehead said:

"We know what Crouchy is capable of, and at times he showed that. His touch is phenomenal and in the air he is very dangerous. He won the header which led to the penalty so that was vital for us.
"Wilson too, he came on and made a couple of superb challenges to break things up when Liverpool were chucking absolutely everything at us.
"Both of them and Cameron Jerome are superb signings for us and they will all play a massive part this season, I'm certain of that."
