Stoke on the 'Up' ???

Stoke are understood to be in talks with England defender Matthew Upson over a potential move to the Britannia Stadium.

The former Birmingham and Arsenal centre-back is a free agent having seen his contract at West Ham expire at the end this summer, and he is keen on a return to the top flight.
Tony Pulis admitted that he wanted to strengthen his defensive options this summer and looks set to bring in another player, despite the capture of Jonathan Woodgate from Spurs.
Upson, who cost West Ham £6million, is believed to be discussing personal terms with Stoke officials and a deal could be struck ahead of the opening game with Chelsea this weekend.
